Description
No South African wine estate is complete without a Pinotage — and ours is one to be proud of. Pinotage is South Africa’s own grape variety, created in the 1925 by crossing Pinot Noir and Cinsault. At its best (& treated gently) it produces wines of real character: earthy, rich and unmistakably South African. Our 2023 Pinotage is exactly that. Profound aromas of dried prunes and wild cherries fill the glass, with subtle notes of clove and cinnamon adding warmth and complexity. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with the characteristic depth of great Pinotage balanced by ripe fruit and a long, satisfying finish.
Food pairing: Made for a South African braai — but equally brilliant with smoky BBQ ribs, slow-roasted pork belly or a hearty venison casserole.
